Advantec was established in 1998 by David McGrath and Allan Pearce, to provide sales and marketing support to David’s agricultural company, Sustainable Agricultural Machinery Developments (SAM). David is the inventor and manufacturer of the Permanent Raised Bed Management System which won him the Land newspaper Inventor of the Year at the Australian National Field Days in 1990.

David is also the inventor of the “original” DraftStoppa®, which was put on hold until the drought hit rural Australia and, as a part of a diversification of product lines, it was decided to fast track the development.

In 2005 Advantec struck up an alliance with AGI Enterprises Inc located Swift Current, Canada, becoming the Australian importer of their quality agricultural products such as the AGI Grain Vacuums (GrainVacs) and AGI Delta Flexible Harrows.

AGI, an ISO 9001:2000 Registered company, has operating since 1966 originally created for the manufacture and sale of a specialised line of farm accessories: Chaff Saving and Transport Equipment. Through the intervening years, the company has gone through significant change and in 1985 produced the first GrainVAC

To compliment the AGI products, Advantec has also taken on the Australian and New Zealand distribution of the Behlen “Crop Circle™” grain storage rings.

DraftStoppa Products

The DraftStoppa® is a self-seal casing for exhaust fans and winner of the HIA GreenSmart Product of the Year in 2003.

In 2006 Advantec released the DraftStoppa® TopHat™, an exhaust fan which combines the patented self-sealing technology of the DraftStoppa®. The TopHat™ received a “Special Commendation” at the HIA-Boral GreenSmart awards in 2007.
